Summary
BSL Teaching Assistant / BSL Teacher (Level 2 & 3 Focus)
Location: Birmingham and surrounding areas
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic BSL Teaching Assistant or BSL Teacher to support learners across Birmingham and the surrounding areas. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 or Level 3 to make a meaningful impact in inclusive education settings.
About the Role:
You will be supporting deaf and hearing-impaired students in schools or specialist provisions, helping to facilitate communication, access to learning, and overall development. This role may involve working 1:1 with students or supporting within a classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide communication support using British Sign Language (BSL)
· Assist students with hearing impairments in accessing the curriculum
· Support teaching and learning activities in the classroom
· Adapt materials and communication methods to meet individual needs
· Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
· Promote inclusion, independence, and confidence in learners
Essential Requirements:
· BSL qualification at Level 2 or Level 3 (minimum)
· Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired individuals
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
· A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
Desirable:
· Previous experience in an educational setting
· Teaching qualification (for BSL Teacher applicants)
· Knowledge of SEND and inclusive education practices
