About the Role:
As a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support that enables each student to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEND
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Support students with a variety of needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Monitor and report on student progress
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience supporting at least 10 different special educational needs
- Strong understanding of SEND strategies and interventions
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support
- Experience working in a school or educational setting
