SEN Teaching Assistant - Newham
Full Time | Term Time Only | ASAP Start
Up to £120 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)
Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Newham, supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including complex care requirements.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a strong SEN background who is confident supporting pupils with additional medical, physical or behavioural needs, helping them access education in a safe, structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEN
- Support pupils with complex care needs, including physical or medical support where required
- Assist with communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Implement strategies linked to EHCPs and individual support plans
- Work closely with teachers, SENCo and external professionals
- Promote independence, dignity and inclusion at all times
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including:
Autism (ASD)
ADHD and behavioural needs
Speech and Language difficulties
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
Complex needs and/or physical disabilities
- Autism (ASD)

- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Confidence working in a school or specialist setting
