Summary

This role is a great opportunity to build a career in fish husbandry we are looking for some experience but the job will provide full training in fish husbandry, fish health, welfare and boat handling and the potential to build responsibility within a supportive team in a beautiful location and outstanding community.

We are seeking a fish husbandry operative to work at our Loch Pooltiel trout farm, Isle of Skye. We have a close-knit team who have steadily developed the site over the past six years to become an essential part of our business. Key responsibilities include fish assessments and monitoring, equipment maintenance, harvesting and boat handling. The ideal candidate will have fish husbandry, fish health and water monitoring experience. Full training will be provided. The site team work 1 in 3 weekends to ensure the welfare of our fish.

Accommodation is available in Kames’ shared accommodation property, in the village of Glendale, on the banks of Loch Pooltiel. Our site at Loch Pooltiel is in an area of exceptional beauty, near to the famous Neist Point Lighthouse in North-West Skye, and with the active local communities of Glendale and Dunvegan.
