GCIL.RS/LD/LJ- 2.26..12.5hrs Personal Assistant
If quiet jobs aren’t your thing- read on!
About me
My name is John and I live in the West End area of Glasgow (G31). I am a positive, driven and ambitious person who loves to keep busy.
I don’t enjoy sitting around- I am always out meeting people, attending events or working on ideas that help me move forward in my future.
I studied radio, TV and podcasting at university and I am focused on building a career in media. I enjoy hosting and attending interviews with people from sport, music and other big personalities, and I am motivated to build my CV to create new opportunities.
Interests & lifestyle
I’m very active and social. I enjoy music, sport, socialising, going to gigs and comedy shows and spending time with friends. I go to the gym, use the hydro pool, volunteer at Gorals boccia and take part in powerchair football. I previously played boccia for GB/Scotland and I bring that same motivation into my everyday life.
No two days look the same- my routine often includes appointments, interviews, activities, social time and planning future projects.
Support I’m looking for:
I have quadriplegic cerebral palsy, and I am looking for a personal assistant to support me to live an active and independent lifestyle. Support will include:
• Driving me to/from activities, appointments and events.
• It might be helping me to set up for interviews and make sure I have everything I need whilst I am out.
• I will require support with personal care, meal preparation, administering medication and cleaning/laundry.
Hours and pay:
This role is for 12.5 hours per week, and rate of pay is £13.00 per hour, increasing to £13.60 after successful probationary period. Start and finish times negotiable but suggested as follows
• Monday and Wednesday: 5:00pm-6:00pm, 9:30pm-10:30pm
• Friday: 6:00pm-10:30pm
• Sunday: 10:00am-1:00pm, 9:30-10:30pm.
The right match for me:
Finding right person is important to me. I am looking for someone who is outgoing energetic and supportive- someone who enjoys being out and about, getting involved in activities and showing real interest in what I do.
I would like someone who is motivating and wants to see me do well and be a part of my journey. You don’t need to have lots of experience, I am happy to train someone who is approachable, open minded and a quick learner. A good personality and being the right match matter far more to me than qualifications.
Bring your personality- we’ll take it from there. Apply today by sending your CV to par@gcil.org.uk quoting the reference “GCIL.RS/LD/LJ/2.26” in the subject line and body of the email. If you have any questions, please contact GCIL at 0141 550 4455
