Summary

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced, confident leader to step into a 12 month maternity cover managing our Private Rented Sector Housing team, at a pivotal time for the sector.

You’ll lead a specialist housing enforcement team, manage a complex enforcement activity, and play a critical role in assisting with embedding the incoming Renters’ Rights Act into frontline practice, policy, performance and partnership working. From influencing strategy to ensuring lawful, consistent and effective delivery, you’ll help ensure residents are protected and standards raised across the private rented sector.

You’ll bring:

Strong leadership experience within housing, PRS enforcement or regulatory services

A clear understanding of the Renters’ Rights Act, its practical implications and delivery challenges

Proven experience translating legislation into operational practice

Confidence managing risk, performance, enforcement and stakeholder relationships

This is an exciting opportunity to lead meaningful change, influence service direction and make a real difference for tenants and communities.

This role would ideally suit a candidate with housing enforcement and management experience. We would also consider secondments from other authorities.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week. Depending on service requirements there may be occasions this may include evening work.
