This post is aimed at individuals who wish to extend their experience of maxillofacial surgery, tailored job plans are available for those interested in research or teaching. This post will last for 12 months and will commence August 2026. Candidates must be eligible for registration with the General dental Council and hold a license to practice. All inpatient services are concentrated on the Infirmary site with outpatient and local anaesthetic services being carried out at the Dental Institute. The department has access to a dedicated Day Case Unit based at the Dental Institute. There is an outpatient outreach clinic at Wharfedale Hospital. The Department currently provides a service for secondary referrals for the local population received from dental and medical practitioners. It also provides a service for tertiary referrals for complex craniofacial trauma, craniofacial deformity and oncology. Workload The department deals with all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The current consultants’ special interests provide a diversity which covers the full workload of the specialty. The acute workload includes Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals. The department has access to beds on a day case unit based within the Dental Institute and inpatient beds on a head and neck ward shared with the ENT department. Additional paediatric beds are available on a children’s ward by arrangement.
