UCLH is one of the largest review centres in the UK for GI pathology. The department’s routine workload includes a broad spectrum of screening and diagnostic cases together with network, national and international referral cases.

CV required for application.

As a Consultant in Gastrointestinal Pathology at UCLH you will join a team of Consultant colleagues to report a range of GI specimens.

The post-holder will be expected to have experience of dealing with complex gastrointestinal and abdominal sarcoma resection specimens and to have worked at a specialist centre.

The Consultants in the department are involved in collaborative research projects with clinical teams at UCLH and with biomedical researchers at University College London. The different sub-specialists actively participate in various multi-centre clinical trials and there are a number of ongoing and proposed research projects.

Frozen sections make up a small proportion of the GI workload. In addition, the post holder will be required to attend and present cases at the weekly MDT meetings. Consultants also need to be available for dealing with queries in their specialist field from a wide variety of clinical and other staff.
