Summary
In this role, you will be part of a unique and innovative integrated team of substance use practitioners and counsellors, dedicated to providing a holistic trauma informed wrap around service to young people in Islington.
Whilst working alongside the Youth Justice Service, Targeted Youth Support and Islington Collaboration Action Network, the team also benefits from strong partnership work with CAMHS, Children’s Social Care, local schools and the Violence Against Women & Girls service.
This role will involve managing substance use practitioners, assessing and managing case allocations, developing referral pathways, managing case recording systems and the referral and allocation management system.
You will provide specialist and clinical substance use guidance to colleagues and professionals and attend various multidisciplinary and multiagency meetings.
This role also involves the development and delivery of training to professionals, parents and young people.
You will hold a small case load and assist in promoting the service to increase referrals.
YCSMAS (Youth Counselling, Substance Misuse & Alcohol Service) is a supportive, creative and young people focussed team. You will also need to maintain a regular dialogue with Better Lives, the adult SMU provider.
