Summary

Area Sales Manager
Area Sales Manager – Agricultural Sector - North England (Carlisle region) up to South Scotland (Dumfries region)

My client is a leading provider of innovative dairy farming solutions, specialising in high-quality cow comfort, housing, and herd management systems. With a strong reputation across the agricultural sector, they are committed to helping farmers improve productivity, animal welfare, and operational efficiency.

The Job:
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Area Sales Manager to join our growing team. You will be responsible for managing and developing sales within your designated territory, building strong relationships with farmers, dealers, and industry partners.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for agriculture and a proven track record in sales to make a real impact in a progressive and supportive business.
We are looking for someone with a strong engineering and agricultural background.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan for your territory
- Identify and generate new business opportunities within the dairy sector
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Conduct on farm visits to assess needs and recommend tailored solutions
- Work closely with distributors and partners to maximise market coverage
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs
- Provide market feedback and insights to support product development
- Represent the company at agricultural shows, events, and exhibitions

The Candidate:
- Proven experience in a sales role (agricultural or related sector essential)
- Strong understanding of dairy farming or livestock management
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self motivated, organised and target driven
- Ability to work independently and manage your own territory
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience selling agricultural equipment or systems
- Existing network within the dairy farming community

The Package:
- Competitive salary £30,000 – £40,000 with performance related bonus

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
