Your Responsibilities as an EYFS Teaching Assistant:
  • Collaborate with children individually or in small groups to enhance their learning.

  • Serve as a positive role model for both students and colleagues.

  • Foster positive relationships with children and their families.

  • Collaborate with fellow staff members, including specialists and EYFS Teachers.

  • Assist the class teacher in resource preparation and creative activity setup.

  • Help prepare a lesson and tidy the classroom afterwards.

  • Provide assistance with EYFS lesson plans and "Learning Journeys."

  • Support children across all Seven Areas of Learning.

  • Give extra support to children with special educational needs (SEN).

  • Help mark work and record student observations.

  • Report student progress to the class teacher.

  • Help look after the children during school trips and activities.

  • Look after children that are unwell.

  • Attend meetings and training sessions.

  • Confidence in guiding individuals or small groups.

  • A positive attitude and effective communication skills.

Essential requirements:
  • TA Qualified (Level 2 or 3).

  • Experience working with young people in an EYFS or Nursery setting.

  • Class management skills.

  • Comfort managing challenging behaviour.

  • Able to engage with and motivate children.

  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework.
