Summary
These roles sit within Core Digital Services, responsible for delivering vital technical improvements to and management of some of our central DWP services.
Great communication and stakeholder management skills are essential to ensure shared understanding and buy-in from Users and others (across Digital Delivery Teams and government departments) for the anticipated outcomes.
Citizen Information - teams responsible for the technical products that store and share our citizen data within DWP and beyond, as well as modernising some of our older but still vital services.
The Garage is an innovative team working within DWP Core Digital Services to create robust solutions. Utilising everything from Robotic Processing up to Generative AI. The Garage team uses the latest automation and cloud technologies to support digital transformation, improve colleague and customer experiences and is at the cutting edge of innovation.
Please note: While we are recruiting for nine positions in total, those joining the Garage team will be based in Newcastle.
As a Business Analyst working within DWP Digital these are some of the things you will be doing:
- You will be working within a transformational multi-disciplinary team building technical services (User Researchers, Developers, QAs etc.).
- You will translate business problems and user needs into a set of detailed requirements to deliver value and great outcomes for our users.
- You will lead workshops, interviews, focus groups and utilise other techniques to effectively understand the business problems and user needs.
- You will develop and maintain stakeholder relationships. communicating effectively across both technical and business stakeholders and ensuring the understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned.
- You will gain a good understanding of the business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service. Selecting the appropriate best practice techniques to model business processes, to identify potential process improvements.
- You may collaborate with a Product Owner to agree a suitable mix of epics, features & stories for each sprint, as well as contributing towards prioritisation activities.
- You will take ownership for improving your own knowledge of Business Analysis and Agile principles, methods and tools and play an active role within the BA community including coaching and supporting other members, as appropriate.
Please note: As part of the role, you may be required to travel regularly to the other digital hubs. The frequency of this will be discussed further should you be successful.
