What does this Care Assistant job involve?
Hours of Work:40 Hours Per Week - Shifts: 07:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 21:00 (Flexible)
• Provide person-centred personal care, practical support and companionship in line with individual care plans.
• Support with washing, dressing, continence, mobility, meals, hydration and daily living tasks while promoting dignity and independence.
• Offer patient, empathetic support to individuals with mental health needs, dementia, autism or learning disabilities, reporting any changes promptly.
• Encourage routines, coping strategies, social inclusion and meaningful engagement in home and community activities.
• Use calm communication and de-escalation approaches to maintain safe, trauma?informed support.
• Assist with medication prompting or administration (where trained), meal prep, shopping, domestic tasks and appointments.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and support community access to reduce isolation.
• Complete accurate daily notes, incident records, MAR charts and other documentation.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Work in line with organisational policies, safeguarding, confidentiality and CQC requirements while maintaining professional boundaries.

Essential Requirements:
• Right to work in the UK
• Previous care experience
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable nature
• Ability to support with personal care and daily living tasks
• Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable Requirements:
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
• Experience supporting people with mental health needs or elderly clients
• Medication administration training
• Manual handling training
• First aid training
