The Role
The role involves positively influencing the continued growth of Ernest Jackson & Co by assisting with a critical part of the supply chain – ensuring that people, procedures and equipment within the warehouse function and perform optimally to enable efficient and effective handling and distribution of our products.
Responsibilities
• Pick orders as required to meet the required timescale.
• Complete all associated documentation in a timely, accurate and GDP compliant manner.
• Co-ordinate the movement of all lorries in the dispatch yard, control the loading and unloading of said lorries in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Ensure batch rotation is adhered to in all stock transactions.
• Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and tidy, completing all check sheets as required.
• Work within the health and safety rules and regulations.
• Ensuring stock from the factory is put away in a safe and timely manner.
Physical Requirements
• Manual Handling for lifting boxes of product weighing up to 10kg.
• Usage of manual pallet truck, moving pallets up to 300kg.
Working Conditions
• Temperature controlled warehouse (8 – 25 degrees Celsius). Often required to work outside when loading and unloading lorries.
• PPE required, high visibility jacket, steel toe cap boots / shoes, safety glasses.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Knowledge of warehouse systems or GDP practices.
• Good level English
• Good level Maths
• FLT Counter Balance license (preferred)
