Summary
About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of our kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual looking to develop their culinary career within a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service
Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
Ensure compliance with UK food safety and health & safety regulations (including HACCP)
Support menu development, including seasonal and special dishes
Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise waste
Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Chef de Partie ready to step up
Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen best practices
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
A passion for fresh, high-quality food and attention to detail
Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) desirable
