Summary

Lead Cardiac Clinical Physiologist for Devices and EP, providing expert technical and clinical input into device programming, procedures, and patient management. Manage the local CRM database (Mediconnect) and ensure accurate reporting to national cardiac audits. Monitor data to confirm all patients are correctly captured and under active followup. Lead administrator for remote monitoring services, ensuring full governance compliance and regular auditing of alerts, transmissions, and disconnections. Oversee timely clinical review of all device patients, working with admin and physiology teams to balance capacity and demand. Deliver quarterly audits and annual reports on device implant activity, complications, operator performance, and improvement actions. Implement and track manufacturer and MHRA safety alerts, ensuring affected devices and patients are identified, informed, and managed appropriately. Act as lead physiologist in device clinics, making clinical programming decisions that directly affect patient safety and outcomes. Supervise, train, and support physiologists within the CRM service, including outofhours advice for device troubleshooting. Serve as the LSC Networks technical lead for CRM pathways, protocols, and service updates. Lead technical aspects of CRM service development in collaboration with consultants, CIU management, and the LSC cardiac network. Work with procurement, cardiology leadership, and NHS teams on tenders, stock management, ordering, storage, and invoice authorisation. Support annual forecasting of CRM activity and costs, and contribute to business cases for service expansion. Produce monthly stock and activity reports for Finance and Audit, ensuring accurate PBR income recovery. Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, ensuring the service stays updated on innovations and technologies. Attend multidisciplinary meetings, advising on complex device issues and future service needs. Support research and audit initiatives within CRM at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre. Communicate complex device information to patients, relatives, and clinicians clearly and sensitively, including safety restrictions and procedural needs. Deliver education sessions and updates across the LSC Network for patients and healthcare professionals. Develop patient information materials, leaflets, and support resources with the wider device team. Ensure physiology input to weekly Device MDT meetings and provide data for ongoing audit cycles.
