Support worker - Location: Stafford

Salary - £27,766.15 (FTE) Per annum (pro rata) Depending on experience

Hours - 37.5 full time

We're looking for a Support Worker to collaborate with our Registered Manager and team in a new children's residential home, Applewood Lodge. Our children's home will be focused on building a nurturing family environment.

You will play a key role in supporting children with mental health challenges and trauma, possessing a comprehensive understanding of exploitation risks.

A strong commitment to child safeguarding and maintaining high-quality standards, working in partnership with Ofsted, is essential.

What you'll be working:

Full time or Part time to choose from! (Full time - 37.5hrs per week)

~ Involving shift work and alternate weekends, requiring flexibility to ensure the home operates smoothly and safely.

~ Working arrangements will be discussed further during the interview process."

~ Working Every other weekend on a rota

~ Rolling 2-week rota shifts

Working towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care

Salary - £27,766.15 (FTE) Per annum (pro rata) (depending on experience)

What you'll be doing:

  • Engage & Connect: Actively build rapport and establish effective communication methods with children and young people, overcoming any communication barriers.
  • Provide Essential Support: Assist with daily living tasks, including mealtimes and personal care, as needed, and support with all activities and hobbies.
  • Ensure Safety & Continuity: Communicate any emerging issues promptly to the on-shift Team Leader or management.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Accurately document and report on all work activities.

What you'll have:

  • Person-Centred Passion: A genuine commitment to providing the highest standard of person-centred care for our young people.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare, or happy to work towards.
  • Residency Requirement: Must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Effective Communicator: The ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Relevant Experience: A minimum of 9 months' experience in childcare, with specific experience working within the childcare sector, particularly with mental health and/or Trauma
