Summary

About This Opportunity

This role is responsible for planning our supply requirements based on customer requirements, forecasted demand, raising and managing purchase orders, and ensuring optimal stock availability for all direct goods. You will play a key part in balancing supply and demand to meet customer expectations while controlling inventory levels across our UK operations.

Please note this is a fixed-term contract for the duration of up to 12 months.

  • Analyse inventory requirements using sales forecasts, safety stock levels, and lead times to ensure optimal stock availability
  • Create and manage purchase orders for direct goods across local and international suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance and lead times to prevent stockouts and excess inventory
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to consistently meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning and Sales teams to review and improve forecast accuracy
  • Partner with Marketing and Product teams to ensure smooth product launches, updates, and discontinuations
  • Identify potential supply risks and proactively recommend effective mitigation strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within ERP systems, including order status and delivery timelines
  • Support inventory optimisation initiatives and contribute to supply chain KPI development
  • Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate inbound shipments and inventory flow
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process, supporting an 18-month forecast and providing data-driven insights
  • Track and review product launch performance against forecast, including POS data
  • Document processes and procedures, and support training of team members to ensure continuity
  • Provide holiday and sickness cover across the team as required
  • Maintain records and documentation to ensure compliance with ISO14001 standards

What Will Make You Successful in This Role

  • Experience in order management, inventory, supply planning, or procurement within a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Understanding in using ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of supply chain principles such as order lead time management
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders
