About the RoleNextGen Teachers are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Support Practitioners to work on a supply basis in a specialist school in Bingley. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and who thrive in a flexible working environment.
As a SEND Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Adapt to different classrooms and student needs on a day-to-day basis
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school or care setting)
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a supply role
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or SEND (desirable)
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
- The right to work in the UK
