Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to support pupils within an Inclusion Resource (IR) Unit in a welcoming and supportive school in South Yorkshire.
About the Role
This rewarding position involves working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, SEMH, and communication difficulties. The IR Unit provides a structured and nurturing environment, supporting students both within the unit and in mainstream classroom integration where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist in delivering personalised learning plans and interventions
- Support emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (essential)
- Knowledge of ASD, SEMH, or similar needs
- Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, SEN training) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
