Based in the head office in St Mellons, Cardiff an opportunity has arisen for a Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Department. ObjectivesTo make a significant contribution to the achievement of the group’s business objectives by providing a high standard of financial support, direction and control to all areas of the business, ensuring that clear, accurate and relevant financial information is available on a timely basis.Principal dutiesAssisting in the production of accurate and well-presented Management Accounts working papers in line with defined timescales.Posting of journals including accruals, prepayments & deferred income.Assisting non-finance colleagues with their understanding of budgets and financial performance.Reviewing and authorising purchase invoices, checking for appropriateness, consistency of allocation and accuracy including maintenance order reviews.Checking payment runs and resolving any BACS payment issues.Recording payments and receipts accurately on a daily basis and reconciling company bank accounts on a monthly basis.Ensuring that resident bank accounts and cash is appropriately safeguarded and recorded, statements are reviewed and filed.Reviewing and preparing intercompany transaction journals for goods and services between companies.Assisting with the external audit process, working in partnership with the Central Finance team.Essential CriteriaExperience of assisting in the production of Management AccountsProficient in using a computer (good Microsoft Excel skills)Experience of working in an office environment Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of peopleAbility to plan, prioritise and organise own workload with established timescalesDesirable CriteriaWorking towards or completion of AAT Experience of working in a Healthcare company environmentFull clean driving licenseWhat you will get in return20 days annual leave - increase by 1 day per year to a maximum of 25 days PLUS bank holidaysEmployee Ownership Trust - 76% Employee Owned - our employees have received over £2650 each in tax free bonuses to date!Onsite parkingEnrolment to NEST pensionRetail/Leisure/Holiday and travel discounts
