Are you an organised communicator with a friendly approach? Our client, a reputable public sector organisation in Preston, is hiring for a full-time temporary Receptionist to support their team. This role offers an engaging environment where your excellent communication skills and attention to detail will make a real difference.
What you'll be doing:
* Greeting visitors and probation clients professionally face-to-face, via phone, and email.
* Logging arrivals and departures, issuing visitor passes and security fobs.
* Handling enquiries about the Probation Service and local support services, referring complex questions to managers.
* Managing petty cash, paying bus fares/travel warrants, and transporting cash and warrants between sites.
* Logging building faults, tracking repairs, and following up as needed.
* Conducting weekly panic and fire alarm tests, maintaining accurate records.
* Supporting admin tasks such as updating confidential records and producing documentation.
* Assisting with internal system training as required.
What you'll bring:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Previous receptionist experience is advantageous.
* Strong IT skills and confidence in handling enquiries.
* Ability to work on a rota basis, including some late nights until 9pm, a few times per week.
* A professional, approachable manner with a focus on customer service.
Additional details:
* Location: Preston
* Contract: 3 months with potential extension
* Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
* Pay rate: £12.71 per hour
* Flexibility for late shifts on a rota basis
