About the role Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to announce the introduction of this new role aimed at doctors who are passionate about their practice and their career outside traditional models. Our post will combine education and career development with practical patient-facing care. The post are not recognised UK training posts. Nevertheless, MYDoc doctors will have a named supervisor and be supported in undertaking scheduled educational opportunities to consolidate and develop alongside their experiential learning, with certificated outcomes or credentialing to support career progression through other routes. Main duties The main duties of the post will include: Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients with acute and chronic conditions including complex cases. Referral of patients to other specialities as appropriate Out-patient activities/clinics Involvement in specialty and cross-specialty multi-disciplinary teams and meetings Involvement in relevant administration duties Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate Active involvement in audit and clinical governance including service improvement activities Please see attached full job description for an example weekly timetable. Essential person specification requirements To meet the requirements of this role, applicants must demonstrate the following essential criteria: Full GMC Registration with licence to practise Medical Degree from recognised medical school Successful completion of post registration training MRCS or equivalent Eligibility to work in the UK Experience in acute and elective General Surgery at CT2 or equivalent level for at least 12 months with recent experience in the NHS Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving. Possesses good communication skills.
