Summary
Job Title: Personal Support Worker : Accrington Area : REF LILS/LM/DW
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and patient individual to support a loving child with complex needs.
The child has a diagnosis of ASD, sensory impairments, and epilepsy. They are non-verbal and communicate using a communication picture board and Makaton communication aids. Full training will be provided, including the administration of epilepsy seizure medication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing attentive, one-to-one support
• Supporting communication using sign board and Makaton
• Assisting with personal care (including nappy changes)
• Encouraging and supporting eating
• Taking the child out on enjoyable days out and activities
• Supporting access to hobbies such as swimming and other leisure activities
• Using a pram to assist with mobility when required
Hours:
• 12 hours per week
• Non-term time only
• Weekdays only
Pay:
• £12.71 per hour
Additional Information:
• A driver is preferred but not essential ; access to a mobility car will be provided for transporting the child
• The family home has friendly dogs and cats
• An enhanced DBS check is essential
