Summary
Job Title: Grader Driver
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Grader Driver to operate heavy plant
machinery for road construction, site preparation, and general earthworks. The ideal candidate
will have strong technical ability, excellent attention to detail, and the capability to deliver high-
quality grading to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a motor grader to level, shape, and finish surfaces for roads, foundations, drainage, and
other civil engineering works.
Read and interpret site plans, levels, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate grading.
Carry out daily machine checks, routine maintenance, and report any defects promptly.
Work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and groundworkers to meet project requirements.
Maintain safe working practices in line with company policies and health & safety regulations.
Adjust blade angles, pitch, and depth to achieve required tolerances.
Assist with general site duties when required, ensuring smooth workflow across the project.
Operate machinery in varying ground conditions and weather environments.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience operating a grader on construction or civil engineering sites.
Strong understanding of ground levels, gradients, and site layouts.
Ability to produce a high-quality finish with minimal rework.
Competent in working independently and making on-the-spot adjustments.
Good communication skills and a proactive, reliable work ethic.
Qualifications
Valid CPCS or NPORS Grader ticket (essential).
CSCS card (preferred).
Full UK driving licence.
Additional plant tickets (advantageous but not required).
Personal Attributes
Safety-conscious and disciplined.
Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
Professional, punctual, and committed to delivering quality work.
Able to work as part of a team and support wider site operations.
