We are seeking a Specialist Services Operative to provide hands-on fabric engineering and facilities support at the Southampton site.​

This is a practical, site-based role focused on building maintenance, statutory compliance, and day-to-day operational support within a live manufacturing environment.

Job Description

The role is based within a feeder factory located on Leonardo’s footprint and includes clean rooms and chemical use.

You will carry out frequent site walkarounds, working independently while supporting the wider engineering function and maintaining a strong, professional, client-facing presence.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out building maintenance and ensure statutory compliance

Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) and reactive works

Undertake general site walkarounds and operational checks

Provide basic electrical fault-finding support

Carry out plumbing and minor mechanical works

Complete filter changes and minor building fabric repairs

Liaise with subcontractors as required

Support day-to-day site operations and maintain a visible client-facing presence

Site & Team Context:

Feeder factory environment with clean rooms and chemical use

Frequent walkarounds required across the site

Working alongside two semi-skilled engineers

Responsibilities include building fabric, plumbing, and chemical collection

Existing engineers are electrically biased with good plumbing skills

Reporting into the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Proven experience in building fabric maintenance

Basic electrical fault-finding capability

Plumbing and minor mechanical works experience

Ability to work independently and manage own workload

Facilities or engineering background
