Are you an enthusiastic and skilled Secondary SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding role within a specialist school environment? Hays Education is working in partnership with a range of Special Schools across London through our PSL contracts, and we are seeking outstanding teachers to support secondary-aged learners with a variety of additional needs.
About the RoleWe are recruiting for Secondary SEN Teaching roles in a range of specialist settings, including:
- Autism (ASC) specialist schools
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) provisions
- MLD/SLD (Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties) schools
- PMLD (Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties) departments
- Specialist sensory and complex needs settings
Roles involve working with small classes, delivering highly differentiated lessons, and adapting the curriculum to support individual learning pathways across KS3, KS4, and preparing pupils for Post-16 transitions.Positions are available on a long-term, short-term, or day-to-day supply basis, with opportunities for permanent placements.
What We're Looking ForWe welcome applications from teachers who:
- Hold QTS or equivalent
- Have experience working within a special school or specialist SEN environment
- Are confident teaching across a range of subjects, with flexibility to adapt learning for varied needs
- Have strong behaviour regulation and communication skills
- Demonstrate creativity, patience, resilience, and a commitment to inclusive practice
- Are experienced or open to using approaches such as PECS, Makaton, sensory-based learning, or therapeutic strategies
