This is a rare and exciting opportunity in the Adolescent Outreach Team (AOT).We are looking to recruit an experienced Service Manager to our Adolescent Outreach Team, established over twenty years ago. The team are fortunate to have an experienced full multi disciplinary representation and high levels of staff retention. The MDT are skilled and highly committed to supporting the wider network, parents and carers to enable young people to remain at home as an intensive alternative to admission. If an hospital admission is required, AOT can facilitate a safe discharge and reduce length of stay for the five boroughs of South West London (Kingston, Merton, Sutton, Wandswoth and Richmond).
The post-holder will work within AOT as the Service Manager,and is responsible for the management of Adolescent Outreach team. Theywill focus on effective clinical leadership in the Adolescent Outreach Team and promote a culture of high performance and clinical excellence
We are looking for a candidate whohas agood understanding of the national perspective for Children and Young People and related areas of health to ensure that the team are aware of the implications, and they need to behighly committed to team working.
The team are always looking to develop the service to meet the needs of the young people and their parents/carers. This role would be at the forefront of this. The team is also fortunate to have a number of development roles and trainees from different disciplines, and this role would be supporting in inspiring our future senior clinicians and developing our workforce.
The team has strong working relationships with our local inpatient service (Aquarius), SLP inpatient units (Snowsfields, BAU, BAU PICU), Tier 3 community CAMHS, CAMHS Emergency Care Team (CECS), CAMHS Crisis Line and CAMHS Bed Management. This role is a key stake holder in building and maintaining these relationships

The Service Manager for the Adolescent Outreach is responsible for the management of Adolescent Outreach team and to provide the clinical advice and support to the local CAMHS teams including CAMHS Emergency Care Team, and other similar services across the SLP.
The Service manager will focus on supporting effective clinical leadership in the Adolescent Outreach Team and promote a culture of high performance and clinical excellence.
The postholder will work to improve not only outcomes for the CYP the their experience and challenge traditional models of care through new insights, perspectives and a positive expectation the CYP can succeed in the recovery process.
To manage the provision and delivery of crisis interventions and intensive home support as an alternate to admission provided by Adolescent Outreach Team, including the management of an Adolescent Outreach Team Rota.
To provide expertise in a highly specialist clinical area which will contribute to CAMHS, assuming responsibility for own workload of CYP who are determined to be at high risk presenting with self-harm, suicidality and mental health crisis as an alternative to admission.
To work as an independent and autonomous professional within professional guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, taking full responsibility for own work.
To formulate alongside the team mental healthcare and crisis management and safety plans that are specific to each CYP and family, based upon an analysis of complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes contributing to the presentation. To assess
safeguarding issues for each case, consulting with other professionals and referring concerns to the appropriate safeguarding team as required.
To deliver support and equip Adolescent Outreach Team staff with evidence based psychological treatments, monitoring outcome and modifying and adapting interventions drawing on a range of theoretical options.
To assess and monitor risk and draw up appropriate risk management plans and safety plans in conjunction team members and other services as appropriate.
To communicate skilfully, tactfully and sensitively highly complex, sensitive and potentially distressing information with CYP, parents, carers and colleagues taking account of sensory and cultural barriers to communication.
To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing, according to professional and Trust guidelines, including electronic data entry and recording.
To ensure that all services provided are acceptable and accessible to the diverse communities which make up the catchment area of the service.
To act as clinical lead providing clinical leadership and clinical decision making for a range of cases including high risk and extremely complex, ensuring the provision of a care package appropriate for the client needs, assisting with the co-ordinating of safe transition to relevant
identified services.
In conjunction with the Head of Nursing & Quality for CAMHS and Specialist Services, the postholder is responsible for developing and implementing standards across the Trust by strengthening professional clinical leadership at team level. They will be easily identifiable to
CYP and Parents / carers.
