Your new company

Desian Education are proud to be working in collaboration with a St Helen’s based primary school that
scored “Good” in all areas of Ofsted as they require an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a long-term full-time temporary contract. This role will be starting on 20/04/2026, will last the remainder of the academic year with a permanent appointment being considered for the new academic year for the right individual.


Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining an experienced and supportive team, working collaboratively with class teachers to promote the engagement and learning of your new pupils. You will work across the school, offering tailored interventions and support across all class on a required basis with duties that include:
- Delivering well-being and mindfulness sessions to boost confidence and self-esteem
- Support with ELSA interventions
- Use extensive positive reinforcement and strategies to promote engagement
- Regularly liaise with the SENCO on pupil progress, further requirements and key milestones


What you need to succeed

- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Be willing to undergo an Enhanced Children’s DBS check
- Have experience working with SEMH and/or behavioural needs
- Experience supporting trauma
- Be at least NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
