About your role

Woolwich Crown Court, ENE Group Magistrates’ Court’s, Import Building & Croydon Employment Tribunal sits within HMCTS’ London region in the Crown, Magistrates and Tribunal Cluster respectively, led by our Cluster Manager, supported by the Operations Manager and Court Delivery Managers.

You’re responsible for the smooth running of Courts, leading your team and supporting your Cluster Manager and Cluster Operations Manager to meet operational needs, deliver cluster performance objectives and provide a consistent and customer-focused service.

You’re able to maintain positive and effective working relationships with the judiciary, supporting agencies, voluntary and user groups and strive for continuous improvement to improve operational efficiency, working with agencies to improve service levels. You’re familiar with work environments that are process and compliance driven and able to constructively manage complaints and complete corrective actions within set timescales. You understand the importance of Health and Safety, IT/Workstation compliance and identifying and escalating any Court facilities issues to HMCTS Estates teams.

Further details

These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. This is a business-critical role requiring full time hours.

Saturday and Bank Holiday Working

(Applicable to the ENE Group within the Magistrates Cluster only)

This role may require you to work on Saturdays and/or Bank Holidays. Your working pattern will be confirmed by your line manager. On any occasion where you are required to work a Saturday or Bank Holiday, you will receive a day off in lieu, allocated in line with business needs.

There is no requirement to work on Sundays.

Location

(Applicable to the ENE Group within the Magistrates Cluster only)

Whilst the post holder will be allocated to a specific office base, namely Thames Magistrates’ Court, there will be a need for flexibility to work on an ad hoc or regular basis at other local HMCTS sites / courts within the group, namely Romford, Stratford or Barkingside Magistrates’ Court’s. Where applicable, associated travel cost / time will be applied in line with organisational policies.

Please note applicants requesting/allocated to the below listed sites will be required to undertake enhanced vetting checks to CTC Level Clearance.

Woolwich Crown Court

Eligibility for CTC level vetting requires to have had permanent residence in the UK for the last 3 years and applicants must not have lived/worked overseas during that time. Please do not apply for this location if you do not meet these requirements
