Support Worker Required – Part-Time
We are looking for a second support worker to join a small team supporting a fun-loving, easy-going 16-year-old young man who enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle.
About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young person to access activities he enjoys and to make the most of his time in the community.
Interests & Activities Include:
- Swimming
- Trampolining
- Walks and drives
- Trips to cafés
About the Young Person:
He is non-verbal with some speech and communicates in his own way. He can become a little “bouncy” when excited, so it’s important that you are confident, calm, and able to build a positive rapport. He is 6'4", so a good level of confidence and awareness is essential.
About You:
- Friendly, patient, and reliable
- Enjoys being active and outdoors
- Confident supporting a young person with additional needs
- Able to build a trusting and supportive relationship
- A driver is desirable but not essential (he has a companion bus pass)
- Experience in care or support work is helpful but not essential — the right attitude and approach are most important.
