Summary

Behaviour Support Assistant – Full Time (Temp to Perm)
Preston
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
Start Date: ASAP

Hazel Tree Education is currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Preston on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. This means you will work via Hazel Tree for 12 weeks and then the role will become permanent directly with the school.

This is an excellent opportunity to work through Hazel Tree Education for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives, particularly those with experience supporting challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting students in the classroom and on a 1:1 or small group basis
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
Promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

Strong recent experience working with challenging behaviour is essential
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain a new one
A proactive, patient, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills

This role would particularly suit candidates with backgrounds in:

Military or armed forces
Prison or probation services
Police or security services
Care or support work
