Summary
This is a rewarding role where you’ll make a real difference in people’s lives. You will aim to ensure every customer feels safe and secure in their home. You’ll work closely with local agencies and key partners to deliver tailored support, empowering individuals to regain control of their lives.
You will need to hold an IDVA qualification or be willing to work towards achieving it.
We believe in the power of collaboration and flexibility, so you can expect to be based at our City Hall Office and to spend time in the office and elsewhere. The use of our office space is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work.
Please note that our Support Coordinators operate across the City of Sunderland, so your primary office location may change depending on service needs.
We support a great work-life balance with our standard 36-hour working week, Monday to Friday. Plus, enjoy an early finish at 12:30 pm every Friday—giving you more time for the things that matter to you. We are also proud to be certified as a “Great Place To Work”.
This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will be arranged and paid for by Gentoo.
What you will be doing:
Provide one-to-one support, managing your own caseload and creating individual support plans.
Use specialised risk assessments to safety plan and refer to MARAC/MATAC/Safeguarding where appropriate.
Build strong relationships with external agencies and advocate on behalf of customers.
Accurately record all actions and maintain compliance with legislation and Group requirements.
Represent Gentoo at partnership meetings and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Stay up to date with legislation and best practice to ensure the highest standards of service.
