Crynodeb
The New Hospital Programme is more than building hospitals, it’s a once in a generation opportunity to shape the future of healthcare in England. We’re delivering over 40 new hospitals that will be modern, sustainable and built around the needs of patients and staff. We’re looking for people who care about purpose, who thrive in complex environments and who want to help deliver change at scale for future generations.
We’re looking for an experienced, credible HR leader who is ready to support the New Hospital Programme.
As our HR & OD Business Partner, you’ll deliver a high quality, professional service to managers, staff and the New Hospitals Programme (NHP) Executive Team. You’ll play a key role in leadership and team development, supporting culture change and strengthening the professionalism of the New Hospitals Programme.
You will:
• Lead the delivery of an efficient, effective and strategic HR & OD service for the New Hospitals Programme
• Develop and implement key HR & OD strategies, plans and procedures
• Provide expert advice on complex HR and OD matters, ensuring timely, safe and productive outcomes
• Drive continual improvement of policies, systems and processes in line with best practice and legislation
Partner with leaders to deliver plans covering talent, performance, resourcing, engagement and capability
• Work autonomously, managing your own priorities and commitments
• Lead the development of local workforce plans aligned to organisational objectives
• Monitor progress, ensure accountability and oversee delivery within agreed timescales and budgets
• Shape future processes, facilitate discussions and embed best practice across the organisation
If you’re passionate, driven and ready to make a meaningful impact, this is your opportunity to help shape the future of our workforce and our programme.
The NHS England board have set out the top-level purpose for the organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all, which will inform the detailed design work and we will achieve this purpose by:
• Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
• Making the NHS a great place to work, where people can develop and make a difference.
• Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care.
• Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
Delivering value for money.
Earlier this year, the Government announced that NHS England will gradually merge with the Department of Health and Social Care, to create a smaller, more strategic centre that reduces duplication and waste.
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
If you are successful at interview, we will run an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) in the Electronic Staff Record system (ESR). This transfer gathers valuable information from a previous or current NHS employer to support the onboarding process, including; statutory and mandatory competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You will have the opportunity throughout the recruitment process to inform us if you do not consent.
You can find further details about the role, including key responsibilities and accountabilities, alongside the organisational structure and person specification in the attached Job Description and other supporting documents.
Secondments
Applicants from within the NHS will be offered on a secondment basis only, agreement should be obtained from their employer prior to submitting the application.
