Summary
SAVS are looking to recruit a:
Turning Tides Assistant – Youth Project
15 hours per week across two/three days– exact hours to be agreed with successful applicant (hrs include 2/3 evenings p/w until approx 7:30pm & occasional weekends)
Salary: £24,750 per annum (pro rata)
Currently funded until 31 March 2027
Additional benefits: parking pass. Upon completion of probation
Birthday leave & Wellbeing day
Turning Tides youth clubs are located on the Balmoral and Woodgrange estates which are considered to be amongst the most disadvantaged areas of Southend-on-Sea. Sessions are specifically designed to help build confidence within the young people, provide opportunity for community action and improve wellbeing.
The purpose of this post is to:
• To assist the Team Leader with planning and organising weekly youth club activities that helps build confidence, improve quality of life and give young people a voice
• To support the Team Leader in the delivery of the weekly youth club sessions and by actively getting involved with the sessions
• To attend and assist delivery of the annual Hucklow 5 day residential trip (August)
• To support the Team Leader in carrying out risk assessments prior to any visits/activities
The successful candidate will be a role model for the children and young people and have a flexible attitude to working hours
