Job Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronics equipment of moderate complexity or a system of limited complexity.
You will set up and operate software controlled automatic test equipment to test and troubleshoot various components and assemblies of electronic equipment such as radio/radar receivers and transmitters; modulators; electronic analog and digital computer components; modules which contain integrated circuits; and printed circuit boards and assemblies.
You will use and maintain hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, wrenches, soldering irons, and micro soldering units as well as Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Qualifications and Key skills:
Must have a valid UK Category B Driver's License and a College level education minimum Level 3 (i.e. BTEC, City and Guilds, NVQ or ONC in an electronic engineering discipline, in addition to experience in Key skills listed below:

• Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory; and operating electronic principles such as microminiaturized digital and solid state integrated circuits, transistors, diodes, tube circuits, antennas, signal transmission, oscillation, and amplification.
Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Skill in the use of electronic test equipment such as computer controlled automated test equipment oscilloscopes, pulse and signal generators, distortion and waveform analyzers, digital data generators, digital voltmeters, frequency generators, and special test panels; and the use of a variety of hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, wrenches, soldering irons, and micro soldering units.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions where circuit theory must be used to understand the operation of individual circuits and the interaction of other circuits to create a malfunction; and perform functional tests on items to determine the extent of repair required, make repairs, and replace defective components and parts.
• Ability to assist engineers in developing, debugging, or modifying diagnostic programs by identifying and investigating apparent contradictions between test specifications or test requirement documents and test programs.
• Ability to use computer terminals to maintain records and document actions

Conditions of employment
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. This position may also be coded as mission essential.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
4. Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies. Overtime may be required and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
7. You may be required to work rotating shifts or uncommon tours of duty. Subject to call back to meet emergency situations.
8. You may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
9. A Pre-Appointment physical/health screening is required. Appointment may be contingent upon passing a physical examination.
