Summary
This post focuses heavily on the provision of undergraduate medical education within Child Health, to facilitate the year 3 and year 5 students who rotate through the unit on an annual basis. Within this role, good administrative and organizational skills are of importance in formulating individualized timetables for students and ensuring an equal and fair exposure to clinical sessions for each student. Teaching opportunities will be many and varied, and an enthusiasm for education will be essential. A wide variety of clinical settings are used for teaching and training, and the post-holder would be expected to provide teaching to individuals, small groups and more formal teaching sessions in addition to being trained as a simulation training faculty member whilst in post. The post-holder would be expected to participate in student induction sessions and assessment sessions alongside Dr. Mannikar and the Clinical Teaching Fellow Paediatric ACP. A variety of clinical sessions are provided within the job plan as per departmental requirements, and it is expected that these will provide the post-holder with valuable clinical experience as well as providing an opportunity to deliver clinical teaching.
