P-CHLL are looking to recruit a Specialist Exercise Instructor to join our dedicated team.
About the role:
To design, deliver and evaluate safe, effective and evidence-based exercise programmes tailored to individuals and groups with specific health conditions or specialised needs. To help prevent or address the issues of health inequalities particularly around physical activity and nutrition. This role combines advanced exercise knowledge with excellent communication and motivational skills to support service users in improving their health, fitness, mobility, and overall quality of life. This will be a role where the successful candidate will lead on health specific exercise classes and demonstrate exceptional customer service, assisting with health specific referrals and health assessments.
Requirements:
Experience working with special populations (e.g., older adults, long‑term health conditions, rehabilitation
clients) (E)
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and safe exercise prescription. (E)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills. (E)
Knowledge of behaviour‑change models, functional movement assessment, and adapted exercise techniques. (D)
Experience of working in a service delivery customer focused environment (E)
Experience of working in the Leisure, health or well-being sector (D)
Experience of working across multiple sites (D)
Level 3 (or above) Exercise Instructor qualification or equivalent specialist certification (E)
Level 4 Specialist Exercise qualification (e.g., Cardiac, Cancer Rehab, GP Referral, Back Pain, Neurological Conditions) or ability to gain with support from the company within 26 weeks (E)
A First Aid at Work qualification or ability to gain with support from the company within 12 weeks (E)
An enhanced DBS disclosure (E)
A full valid driving license or ability to easily get to all facilities (E)
Understand the importance of Health & Safety and its application (E)
Understand the importance of commitment to Equalities and Diversity and its application (E)
