Summary

Job Title: Wellbeing and Learning Practitioner - Residential Special School
Location: Great Yarmouth
Contract: Temp to Perm, Term Time + 1 week
Hours: 32.5 per week
Salary: £14.40 - £16 per hour (experience dependent)
Start: April/May 2026

About the Role
A residential SEMH special school for boys aged 7-16 is seeking a compassionate Wellbeing and Learning Practitioner. This role is ideal for someone experienced in SEMH support, SEN classroom support or complex needs support who wants to make a meaningful impact in therapeutic education and alternative provision. You will support pupils with academic, social and emotional development throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group SEMH support
- Assist teachers with personalised learning plans
- Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and positive behaviour
- Maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and external agencies
- Support activities linked to residential school routines when required

Requirements
- Experience with SEMH, SEN or complex needs
- Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate, patient and adaptable approach
- Willingness to undertake training and CPD
- Able to support primary and secondary-aged pupils
