We are proud to be working with a thriving primary school in Leeds to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Mentor to work across KS2. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people, promoting wellbeing, and helping to create a safe and nurturing environment where every pupil can succeed.
You will be joining a setting that prioritises the wellbeing of both pupils and staff, while making a real difference to the lives of learners.
About the Role
- Providing support across KS2 classrooms, not based in a single class
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour effectively
- Building strong, trusting relationships to promote positive attitudes to learning
- Supporting the school's safeguarding, behaviour, and attendance policies
- Working collaboratively with staff to ensure consistency and effective support for pupils
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous KS2 school-based experience (essential)
- Experience supporting children with SEN and challenging behaviour
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
- Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Minimum GCSE grade 4/C in English, Maths, and Science
- A Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable
