About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive primary school in Crawley.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across the school. You will work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to provide tailored support, helping every child to access learning and reach their full potential.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Support Worker, or those looking to build a career in education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Support children with autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH
- Assist in delivering targeted interventions and differentiated learning
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCo to implement EHCP targets
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Support pupils both in class and during structured interventions
Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEN (school or care setting desirable)
- Understanding of inclusive education and child development
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to take initiative while following guidance from teaching staff
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs
- Relevant qualifications ( CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
- Experience in primary education
