ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Sustainability and Gardening Assistant to join our school community. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing our outdoor learning environment and promoting sustainable practices across the school.
You will support the maintenance and development of our school garden while working alongside staff and pupils to deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is enthusiastic about environmental education and is committed to inspiring young people to care for the world around them.
What You Will Do
• Maintain and develop the school garden including planting, growing and harvesting
• Support pupils in practical gardening and outdoor learning activities
• Assist in delivering sustainability initiatives such as recycling, composting and eco projects
• Work with staff to enhance the use of outdoor spaces within the curriculum
• Help run gardening or eco clubs and support whole-school events
• Ensure tools, equipment and outdoor areas are safe and well maintained

• A genuine interest in sustainability, gardening or environmental education
• Experience of working with children or young people (desirable)
• Practical gardening skills or willingness to learn
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently
