Are you a passionate educator dedicated to inspiring the next generation of confident, kind, and impactful world citizens? We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of English to join a vibrant school's English & Media Department on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for promoting effective learning and ensuring the social, personal, and educational progress of every student in your care. You will work within a supportive framework that values lifelong learning and challenges students to be the best they can be.

The Role
  • Location: Rainham, Essex

  • Salary: Competitive (commensurate with experience and aligned with the current Pay and Conditions Documents)

  • Reporting to: Head of Department

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Deliver: Create consistent, effective learning plans that meet the unique needs of all pupils.

  • Engage and Challenge: Use diverse methods and resources to interest and engage students, providing appropriate levels of challenge.

  • Monitor Progress: Use assessment information to plan next steps and provide constructive feedback to students.

  • Environment: Maintain a well-organized, stimulating, and safe learning environment with high standards of behavior.

  • Collaboration: Participate in the department's extra-curricular programs and contribute actively to academy policies.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual who meets the following essential criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English.

  • Proven experience teaching across both Key Stages (11-16 school setting).

  • Strong subject knowledge and an understanding of the National Curriculum.

  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality of opportunity, and continuous professional development.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with parents and carers to encourage active participation in the educational process.
