The successful candidate will deliver consultant-led antenatal diabetes, general endocrinology and specialist obesity clinics, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centred care. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking department with strong links to maternity services and established specialist pathways.

We welcome applications from candidates with strong clinical experience in diabetes in pregnancy, general endocrinology and obesity management, who are committed to maintaining high standards of care and service delivery.
The postholder will provide high-quality consultant-led outpatient care within the Diabetes & Endocrinology service. The role is clinic-based and focused on maintaining safe, effective and timely elective care delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering antenatal diabetes clinics, working closely with obstetric, midwifery and specialist nursing teams to ensure safe maternal and fetal outcomes
• Providing general endocrinology outpatient clinics, managing a broad spectrum of endocrine disorders including pituitary, adrenal, thyroid, calcium/bone and complex metabolic conditions
• Delivering specialist obesity clinics, including assessment, pharmacotherapy management and multidisciplinary care planning where appropriate
• Providing expert clinical advice and senior decision-making within outpatient pathways
• Supporting multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions relevant to outpatient case management
• Contributing to clinical governance activities, including audit, quality improvement and adherence to national and local guidelines
• Supervising and supporting junior medical staff and allied health professionals within the outpatient setting as required
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and participating in service performance monitoring
The postholder will work collaboratively with consultant colleagues to ensure continuity of care, maintain elective performance standards and support ongoing service delivery during a period of workforce absence.
