This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilled individual to join the team as our Teaching Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading an expanded team whose focus is on the delivery of high-quality support for all aspects of Teaching within our large and busy Department. We are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment where the professional services team are valued and developed.
As the Teaching Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our department. We are seeking applicants ideally with previous experience in teaching coordination roles, with excellent Microsoft Office skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and strong communication capabilities combined with good analytical skills, and reporting proficiency.
Working closely with the Department's Deputy Head of Department (Teaching) and General Manager (Departmental Administrator) ensuring policy translates into procedure, embedding administrative best practice in all areas, and supporting the department in responding to any change as it occurs. The role holder is expected to proactively line manage the Teaching team and the day-to-day activity of the office. They will have responsibility for the development of working practices, and for the development of individuals and the quality of the work that is delivered.
You will have:
Experience of first line management, ideally management of a small administrative team.
The ability to successfully co-ordinate a diverse and busy workload, and to plan and organise your own work whilst directing the work of others.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to build and maintain co-operative relationships at all levels.
The ability to thrive in a team environment and possess the skills needed to interact with a range of professional service staff, administrators, academics and postgraduate and undergraduate students (both current and prospective).
Experience of higher education administration.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
