Summary
1. To receive from Nursing Home staff pre-sorted dirty laundry and to distribute within the home and service users bedrooms once washed.
2. To sort service users personal clothes and any other linen into types for washing separately.
3. To clean in the washing machines using the appropriate programmes.
4. To dry in the tumble dryers or on a washing line as appropriate, using correct temperature.
5. To press items as necessary with the appropriate use of equipment and separate any clothes and linen in need of repair.
6. To repair items where possible or report damage to Manager.
7. To sort and distribute clothes or linen to appropriate locations once cleaning cycle completed.
8. To keep laundry area clean, tidy and ready for inspection at all times.
9. To take care of regular cleaning of equipment.
10. To ensure monthly orders of cleaning products as required
11. To ensure the correct and economical use of cleaning materials and equipment and ensure wastage is kept to a minimum.
12. To ensure all equipment is clean and in good working order and to report faulty or damaged equipment.
13. To be familiar with the Nursing Homes Policies and Procedures.
14. To comply with health and safety, fire and other statutory regulatory requirements.
15. To report any incident immediately to the Staff Nurse or Manager.
16. To attend staff meetings as required.
17. To represent the home in a positive manner.
18. To maintain confidentiality in relation to the personal and private affairs of the service users.
19. To maintain confidentiality in relation to the business/affairs of the Nursing Home.
20. To undertake any other relevant and reasonable duties within the requirement of the job role.
