Summary
Castlethorpe requires a full time senior carer.
Must have at least 2 years knowledge of a senior role and what it entails.
1. To ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting Service Users, when required, with all aspects of daily living.
2. To support training and supervision of junior and new members of staff in all aspects of their work in the Nursing Home.
3. To assist Service Users in all aspects of their care needs e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual. To provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Service Users retain their comfort and dignity.
4. Pay particular attention to assisting Service Users who have limited mobility or physical difficulties, making the best use of aids provided.
5. To assist in the promotion of continence.
6. To assist in the delivery of care for Service Users and in particular those who are ill and assist with last offices.
7. Discuss care-planning needs for Service Users and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with Nursing Home policies and procedures.
8. Assist in framework of social activities by interaction with Service Users and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Nursing Home when required.
9. Answer the Nurse call system, giving assistance when required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately, respond accordingly and pass on messages promptly as required.
10. To carry our regular checks on Service Users at intervals.
11. To make sure all visitors to the home feel welcome, providing refreshment and assistance as and when required.
12. To delegate to junior staff and organise work effectively.
13. To participate in staff meetings as and when required.
14. To attend hand over reports and ensure at the start of each shift that you are familiar with Service Users condition or any change of arrangements within the home…
15. To participate in mandatory training sessions, on or off site, as and when required.
16. Participate in relevant NVQ training to achieve required qualifications.
17. To report any incident immediately to the Manager.
18. To report any faulty equipment or potential hazard to the Home Manager or Handyman.
19. Understand and ensure the implementation of the Health and Safety policy and emergency Fire procedures and other statutory regulatory requirements.
20. To report any concerns or complaints expressed by the service user or their families to the Manager.
21. Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Nursing Home.
22. Notify the Home Manager as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.
23. Adhere to all Nursing Home policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
24. To maintain confidentiality in relation to the personal and private affairs of the Service Users.
25. To maintain confidentiality in relation to the business/affairs of the Nursing Home.
26. To undertake any other relevant and reasonable duties within the requirement of the job role.
