The Role

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in gas-phase ion spectroscopy with a particular emphasis on utilising spectroscopic tools (photoelectron imaging and action spectroscopy) to study the structure and dynamics of transition metal complexes. The research project aims to develop a new method for elucidating the mechanisms of transition metal chemistry, by isolating reactive intermediates in the gas-phase and interrogating their electronic structure using ion spectroscopy. The research project will be led by Jemma Gibbard (, ), and is funded by a Leverhulme Trust Research Project Grant.

The successful applicant will be expected to aid the development of experimental protocols, perform experiments (gas-phase ion spectroscopy with ns/fs laser systems), analyse and interpret data, and prepare outputs in the form of manuscripts and presentations at scientific conferences.
