Your New Role


As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, secure mathematical understanding, and achieve strong progress through personalised, dyslexia-friendly teaching.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging maths lessons tailored to students with dyslexia and other specific learning needs
  • Adapting teaching resources to ensure accessibility, clarity, and appropriate challenge
  • Using multisensory, visual, and practical approaches to support mathematical understanding
  • Incorporating digital tools and assistive technologies to enhance learning
  • Providing one-to-one or small-group support where needed
  • Monitoring progress closely and using assessments to inform next steps
  • Working collaboratively with the learning support department, teaching assistants, and colleagues across the school
  • Fostering independence, confidence, and positive attitudes towards maths
  • Contributing to curriculum development and wider academic goals
  • Acting as a Form Tutor and supporting the pastoral development of your tutor group
  • Participating fully in the wider life of a boarding school, including supervisory duties and extracurricular activities

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • A Maths degree (or strong maths teaching background) and QTS
  • Experience teaching Maths, ideally up to Key Stage 4
  • Knowledge of dyslexia and how it affects learning, or a willingness to undertake specialist training
  • Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and accessibly
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt learning materials effectively
  • Empathy, patience, and a positive, student-centred mindset
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365
  • A collaborative, flexible approach and a commitment to safeguarding
