We are launching a unique venue designed to deliver exceptional dining by day and an electric lounge atmosphere by night.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Bar / Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations and play a key role in launching and scaling the business.
Personal license holder is a bonus but not essential, but should be willing to take on the course.
This is not a “sit-back” management role — we need someone who is operationally strong, leads from the front, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, team leadership, service standards, and overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service
Oversee daily operations across bar and restaurant floor
Ensure smooth service during both dining and lounge/nightlife periods
Maintain high standards of customer service and guest experience
Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalations professionally
Team Management
Recruit, train, and manage front-of-house staff
Lead shifts and ensure team coordination across all areas
Create rotas and manage staffing levels based on demand
Set expectations, monitor performance, and drive accountability
Bar & Floor Oversight
Ensure efficient bar operations (speed, quality, consistency)
Oversee drink preparation standards and service flow
Support floor service when required during peak times
Stock & Financial Control
Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier coordination
Monitor wastage and control costs
Support with cash handling, till reconciliation, and reporting
Compliance & Standards
Ensure adherence to licensing laws, health & safety, and hygiene standards
Maintain cleanliness and presentation across the venue
Ensure all staff follow procedures and policies
Launch & Growth
Support pre-opening setup, training, and operational planning
Help shape service style, workflows, and team culture
Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, customer experience, and revenue
Requirements
Proven experience as a Bar Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Assistant Manager
Strong leadership and team management skills
Experience in high-volume or late-night venues
Confident managing both bar and floor operations
Excellent customer service and problem-solving ability
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and late hours
Desirable
Experience in Afro-Caribbean, lounge, Bar/ food venues
Cocktail/bar expertise
Experience opening or scaling a new venue
Basic understanding of stock systems and cost control
Personal licence holder (or willingness to obtain)
